  1. proved pretty easy actually, that wall or 30 deg angle doesn't scare me any! i recorded a video and provide a sample if we can talk now lol
  2. thats ez, exactly what i showed in my file. give me just 2 minutes to make an example, ill use your file here you go, video https://fastechincorporated-my.sharepoint.com/:v:/g/personal/support_fastechinc_net/ER2lv3kDT_NGv0vpLpK960UBbk80RbclIbEG0kz1LyGKcA?e=8DzDzY file download: https://fastechincorporated-my.sharepoint.com/:u:/g/personal/support_fastechinc_net/EVtd3pOBGyNCukwCd-1BZ44Ba31yZDkMGv9zlOoedXMwaQ?e=sRK9no
  3. what no one likes my idea that i had mentioned... sample.zip
  4. could use flowline, may need to Reflow the surface flowline data with mastercams new ReFlow UV tools, nice spiraling flow data with flowline would be really nice.
  5. what did that system run you? just curious because I got about 1400$ into a desktop pc that ran this test benchmark in 3:33.
  6. if you are getting it in FBM operations like FBM Mill or FBM drill which is where I have seen it on some computers then below should be the fix. also you could see if turning off the customer feedback program under File --> community helps any. Crash with .XLSX file in FBM toolpaths (this Knowledge base article is described as crash but I have seen Server busy in this area or when accessing Tap Tables on certain pc's and the FBM toolpaths) Problem Mastercam crashes when accessing the FbmToolTable.xlsx file. This can occur in FBM, access Tap Tables, or any area that access the file mentioned. Solution Rename the FbmToolTable.xlsx file to FbmToolTable.bak. The file is in the shared folder under \common\FBM. Mastercam will use the XLS or CSV file. All three files have the same data. Occasionally you may also have to rename the XLS file so Mastercam uses the CSV file. - so you can try going here C:\Users\Public\Documents\Shared Mastercam 2021\common\FBM and in that folder you will see three files labeled "FbmToolTable" , if your pc is showing file extensions they each have a different file extension, rename 2 of them and keep the one that is the .xls file extension This has fixed the server busy for me on specific pcs Edit: after another look now i see your title says when closing verify, this may not help in that case but should help if anyone sees this prob with FBM
  7. are you using a post specific to the machine? Typically getting a post from a post company like Postability or Inhouse solutions or your local reseller should get you a nice post that is specific to the machine and on top of that if you got the post through any one of those companies they will likely fully support the post for edits if it is not working properly. I would email whomever you purchased the post through and let them know what is not working properly and they likely will address the issues and send you back a correction. what may be a proven post for one machine could need edits to be used with the same machine at another facility depending on the controller and parameters in the controller and how the machine is specifically setup, some brands of machines like HAAS for example remain pretty consistent across the board as far as what posts can be used and how the controller handles information but other brands of machines can have less consistency from the way one machine is setup to the next. and if you don't have a specific post for the machine, i would reach out to the reseller or one of those post companies i recommended above and they will be able to assist with quoting a machine specific post and like i said earlier if its a purchased post then it typically is fully supported by the post developer so if you have not reached out to them i would suggest doing so and they will likely be able to make the edits to get the post dialed in for your specific machine. if there are some minor problems with the post some of us here may be able to help also, so if you can describe some of the problems you are experiencing we may be able to offer some ideas and suggestions. i hope this helps
  8. here is an example of how i would do this. would probably need to manually edit the code some for the M19 etc. https://fastechincorporated-my.sharepoint.com/:u:/g/personal/support_fastechinc_net/EXJl5Zoi2lpOhlh-F_founMBq1wSYydEOdMlenu9nVhvsA?e=9Ud8fm
  9. i got it to work but it just doesnt show the arrow coming back, see video below on what i did but basically it was what you described JParis, just doesn't show the arrow. video: https://fastechincorporated-my.sharepoint.com/:v:/g/personal/support_fastechinc_net/EV7TwNw7_VdLpuAt7Y3_AFsBi0KHlDeS91tNWAL9aJ-oCw?e=dKfTt5
  10. i love the CamInstructor blog videos, and of-course their other videos, they are a gold mine of info.
  11. this video here does a great job of explaining how to use sub programs.
  12. https://whatsnew.mastercam.com/en-us/Content/Milling/2D_Enhancements/CircleMill_HelixBore.htm?Highlight=circle mill
  13. its ramping both directions, that is not a spring pass on the way back but another ramp pass, you can even see it in your image, each pass is ramping and dropping in Z its not a spring pass so i am not sure what you want it to do differently but i don't see any spring passes in your image, just ramp motion both directions dropping in Z.
  14. Yea i am following this topic too because as much as i try i can not get 0.0 into that field like bill mentioned. I am not sure what kind of magic you are working to do that or if its something that an update prevented that maybe i have installed or something but its a nogo for me with entering 0 into that field.
  15. its a separate module and is not part of Cimco Edit or Cimco Software and will need to be purchased separately.
  16. we only have a 3 axis machine here so i have not tried anything 5 axis with it.
  17. i have done some Cimco probing testing recently as well and am very impressed by what i see so far with it
  18. Hmm, I must not understand because when I went to test what you described I cant put 0.0 into the initial stock shape tolerance field. it throws up a warning basically telling me the number is outside of the valid range of numbers that can be used which says ".00005 to +1.0E 38" Which would make sense to me because i thought that field was a tolerance and 0 is not a valid tolerance
  19. On the Linking page, change the Small Gaps to Direct, Then to drop the tool lower go to the Utility Page, change the Axial Shift to -.5 or whatever distance you want the tool to drop. it will be the Axial shift, constant for each contour.
  20. it should be the same fix i listed on this topic here about changing rotary direction in the machine definition, see my reply to this topic here and i think that will be your fix.
  21. There is also a setting in the lathe rough toolpath called Section Turning that works great for long small dia parts. You can simply activate section turning, set it to a certain number of sections, and then instead of turning the entire dia. down it will turn the part down in sections to maintain rigidity. Its similar to how Swiss or screw machine parts get cut into sections to maintain rigidity. Works great from my experience
  22. ok, here is an example file that shows axis subsitution on your file. sample part file - https://fastechincorporated-my.sharepoint.com/:u:/g/personal/support_fastechinc_net/ERaMd39pHRdCjdeVAFz-IhABs3NxwD8zKBxKj7OJB8yDXQ?e=KUgEyc video https://fastechincorporated-my.sharepoint.com/:v:/g/personal/support_fastechinc_net/EcvfKeRag0FCgeG9FDiICVUBMRE8vJPy06Oh-ETuDKqAiA?e=CtD6Lv if the video quality is poor in the browser you can download the video from that same link and if you download the .mp4 video it will play high quality EDIT: i just updated a new part file because i had that transform toolpath setup incorrectly, with axis subsitution we translate an axis subsitution path to get it to rotate like KB article 50169 shows. So please use this new link to the file since i have fixed the tranform toolpath
  23. Do you have a multi-axis license? Also are you looking to rough this part with the A-axis rotating during the cut or are you doing it 3+1 and locking the axis? it looks like it could be roughed like you are setting it up with 3+1 and just Positioning the 4th axis or could be done with a simultaneous multi-axis path. Also what kind of cutting strategy are you looking for because if its a softer material flow 5 axis would be super easy to apply and we could zigzag, or if its a harder material we could Peel Mill with axis substitution to climb mill only. You have many options but luckily this part is an easy one to learn on, let me know your thoughts on those questions and i can provide some examples once i get a better idea of how you would like to cut it
  24. what version of mastercam is that? Also i am curious how large that radii is so i can do some testing here, i am guessing thats a pretty small radii, can you share the file or let me know the version and the radii and also let us know if its a custom tool or 3d tool or just share the file if you are able and i am sure we can get to the bottom of what is causing that.
  25. your stock plane is set to front in the stock setup page. Typically when you see the "the contour does not lie in the construction plane" it means the plane that you are using in stock setup is not perpendicular to the plane the geometry you are selecting is on. If you cant post a part file and want some guesses i would guess you should try Top plane since that is 90 degrees off of the Front plane you currently have set in stock setup. Also make sure to go to edit tool and make sure the turret is set to the correct turret, upper or lower turret in tool setup is important based on where the geometry is located.
