  1. I prefer to have error messages . It will post anyway ,right ? Saved my xxxx couple of times
  2. John ,saying POS you mean point of sail or piece of **** ? I am illiterate foreigner ,you know . I used to run HAAS and we bought a couple 5x Haases with trunion and happy with them Maybe Fadal is "same bad " ? i MEAN ,GOOD FOR MONEY ?
  3. FADAL vmc 4020 WITH 4-TH AXIS and Fanuc controller What is your opinion about this machine ? Especially comparing to Haas Task -24/7 general machinary ,25-30 % of time making 4 axis parts Stainless steel ,4340,alluminium . feeds up t0 3000 mm/min Speeds up to 7000-8000 rpm 70 % of time . What accuracy ,relability I will have ? What con I see from the first gLance : I may be wrong (jmho) little Y 520 mm for X 1020 mm Small z movement only 20 tools Small memory Not built strong enough pro -small price
  4. Forget about it You still need to backplot toolpath ,save as geo and add exit from the toolpath Sorry for beeng dumbass
  5. can do it easily Use pocket -true spiral First geometry ->point (entry point for your slot mill outside from first countour Create outer contour ->circle diameter=outer diameter +(2*slot mill diameter ) +safety distance Inner diameter ->target diameter Now select pocket settings style -true spiral Deselect spiral inside to outside Deselect entry ramp And enjoy your quick and nice toolpath Teh Lazytrick
  6. I always use edit->break many pieces->by error . Most accurate and fast
  7. To Felix Ortega ! This map of yours I consider to be sheer offence . You think I don`t know where I am situated ? Amd yet you want to remind me !
  8. iN YOUR CASE i WOULD SAVE YOUR TOOLPATH AS GEOMETRY AND WILL RUN TOOLPATHES with changed toolplane /cplane using tip compensation -center
  9. mASTERCAM STARTING from ver 9 supports undercutting With surface project toolpath using Lollipop . nO NEED FOR TRICKS
  10. No computer from ANY software point of view is safe. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ True . Bad security ,problems with TCP/IP ,PoSSix (May be Microsoft don`t care ) ,OpenGL support . But what are Vista strong points ? Aero ? What all this fuss worth of ? People ,become reasonable ,install Xp on new computers ,do not give your It possibility to install Vista and be happy.
  11. More complex Windows OS mor evulnerable I don`t like the idea of Windows defender ,security center and so on. I think Microsoft is not capable to look critically over the monster it created . It simply not able to make good antivirus or spam defenter . They can hire legions of programmers and antivirus researchers ,every effort will die in beurocracy of montrous corporation . If you ever used Microsoft antivirus in the days of DOS 6 you know what I mean . No Windows system was ever safe . What i think is old as computer - Windows has bad architecture . It was never made from scratch ,it was always a chase over someone and never strong enough . It never follows standarts . It is not fully Possix compatible to this day or say tcp/ip .
  12. oN HAAS WEB SITE wE HAD PUrchased too . Waiting for shipment Looks like a bad combination to me Like our first purcase . You need more z for your trunion ,JMHO We bought VF3tr with high column and trunion160 ,40 tools . High column gives me additional z i desperatly need for 5x machines the differense with the first machine VM3 with trunion 210 and the new one VF3tr with high column and trunion160 is more than 150 mm in Z axis
  13. CONSIDER THIS : http://htmlfixit.com/index.php?p=993 http://www.webroot.com/company/pressroom/p...weaknesses.html http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20061002-7875.html http://software.silicon.com/os/0,39024651,39164485,00.htm

  15. Ahhh . I know this too. You need to be cautious sometimes instead og going up your tool can go down Happened to me a couple of times on geometry like a contour on cylinder .
  16. John . Your way looks kida overkill for me I heavily use 3d contour with great success
  17. Have no time to look at your file ,but ... Looks like your height is incremental ,but you input it absolute . In 3 d contour height is always incremental
  18. yEAH ,vISTA oPENgl SUPPORT IS EMULATION THROUGH NEW api INTERFACE -BAD IDEA for us . Solidworks was first to start screaming on the early stages of Vista beta . Once more -who ever in sound state of mind consider use Vista . You can install XP even if your pc was Vista preinstalled
  19. mAKE A COPY OF SOLID mAKE ON THE COPY BOOLEAN REMOVE MC will inform you that the solid will loose assosiativity Proceed with yes That`s all
  20. What exactly do you mean ? If you mean links to the files ,Jay moved all of them to different folder- Iskander_Lazytricks something
  21. Surface project is good . There are some other ways too . The oldest I used before mastercam Draw two mill sections in start and end of your line . Draw line between their centers Use as your geometry . You guys nowadays turn helpless ,if you need to draw a line ? J/K
  22. I know about it . It always happens with the same size tools,so instead of two metric tools rough and finish 12 mm use rough 12.01 and finish 11.99 and you `ll be fine
  23. We are going with Haas We bought Haas VM3 with trunion 210 half of year ago and are buying now 2 VF3tr with high column and trunion160 Sure this is not high end product but for general machining they worth every $ It is cheaper than Mory-seiky of the same class NV5000 . It is simple machine . It will hold on for 5 years ,I hope . It gives great profit . May be in future we`ll buy some better machines .but haas is not bad at all Trunion standart move A axes +-120 degrees and can be greater through parameter change
