  1. You need openGL on. If your mouse is jerkey then use a simple logitec mouse.
  2. Turn off your hardware acceleration on your video card and you will get your chaining arrows back. This will take care of all of your video issues in V9
  3. Set your saftey zone back to off and only regen your drill operations. The safety zone is design to shoot your retracts and clearance to the current set safety zone. The nice thing about safety zones is that you can change them as you are programing and it will not affect your operations. Example on how to use them. For your 3-2 position turn on maybe sphere and regen your op. It will take on that zone. For drilling maybe set it to off or block and regen those op's and it will take on that zone. For another op you may need a cylinder or a bigger sphere then just regen that op. So you're not just tied to only one saftey zone.
  4. The demo and the cimco editor are both timed. Ask your dealer for a new HLE (Home Learning Edition)
  5. James, Glenn and I where just talking about that part the other day. I think this C-hook would have saved our butts a few years ago.
  6. Tom, Call me tomorrow, we can do a gotomeeting. I put something together for you to answer your questions.
  7. Yep, I tried depth cuts, Ramp, I even tried oscillate. Pretty damn ugly, but it is what I expected.
  8. I saw this post and I thought I would try and break stock model by creating the ugliest tool I could think of, as you can see in the image. Stock model gave me exactly what I thought I should get. I even went as far as using the tool in a thread mill operation and it still worked. After changing the tool geometry enough, I was able to make it fail, but Mastercam did give me a warning when I regenerated the stock model. See Image. Peon, did you get a warning at all? What did you do to create your tool? I can not for the life me make a tool that 1) stock model will not recognize or 2) Not give me a warning. P.S when I get some time I will try and put together some tips for using stock model. I think it will help with some of the confusion that is out there. -Peace
  9. Auto Drill will do exactly what you are asking for. There is a setting to chamfer with a spot drill. Put in the size of the chamfer you want and mastercam will adjust the depth to maintain the size.
  10. To shed some light on "Port Expert" I have tested this for the past 12 months. I can say If all you do is head porting than this is something you are going to want. Ports that have taken me days to create a good smooth cutter path, is now taking me minutes to create. Anyone that is doing head porting knows how much work goes into creating the curves and smooth surfaces to flow on. Port Expert takes all of that geometry work out of it. Think about trying to do muti-surface toolpaths with a level one. It could be done, but think about all the slices and geometry that you would have to create to get it to work, thats why you have moved to up a level 3 for that. Advantages to Port expert. You can have multiple surfaces that do not have to form a row, and you can cut straight from a stl mesh. Most guys doing Ports reverse the port with some sort of point data. Then they either build surfaces or a stl mesh from those points. Anybody that has tried flowline on these knows, it's not that easy. You have to build nice smooth surfaces to flow on. Then you still have to work the path to get a nice motion at the machine. Port expert tries to use 3axis motion as much as possible until it needs to kick the 4th and 5th. The gouge checking is amazing with this tool. Every port I have cut with this has given me nice smooth motion at the machine, with 1/3 the size of code I would get with flowline. Also, when Port Expert releases you DO NOT need to have the Muli Axis add-on. It will be available with just a level 3. Anybody doing head porting should take a serious look at it.
  11. If you just use the simulation verify, ther isn't any setup. You have way more control with verification than with the standard verify.
  12. Tom, This why we have update folder under the file pull down menu. It allows you to update your files from previous versions. It should take care of the warnings you are getting.
  13. It looks to me that you have adjust feed on arc move turned on.
  14. After filling in the slots with surfaces, did you include them with the toolpath? Double check they are in the toolpath, or even reselect you surfaces before tweaking the gap settings.
  15. Just a thought. Try using update folder. Choose "Update specific file types" and choose "Part files". Also select "update specfic versions" and choose the version the file was created in. By design this should work.......but you never know. Another option is to regen all cutter paths and re-save it in x4.
  16. quote: Unfortunately I don't get any help from my reseller. I'm trying my best to keep our mastercam maintenance updated every year. but, If my boss see we don't get support he will ask me to move to a different software. There must be something wrong here. I can assure you JPL is completely happy with our support and service, and so is your boss. Please contact me with your concerns, and I will address each one of them.
  17. Bill, I just sent you a email about a customer of ours that is looking for someone.
  18. Call our office at 805-375-7676 And we will be more than happy to help you.
  19. John, From one reseller to another. That was AWESOME!
  20. Make sure you have "machine finish passes only at final depth" and "machine finish passes after roughing of all pockets" is turned off. Notice when you check Thin wall that the above gets greyed out. FYI depth cuts should be set to "by depth" not "by pocket" Oh and you should have more than one pocket chain.
  21. quote: How you doing rob ?? I'm doing great Steve thanks for asking. How have you been? Where are you working at now a days? I see you're still taking care of things on the forum. Dude I have to ask.....What's up with the eye ball? It's freaking me out!!! I literaly can not look you in the eye anymore. quote: Hey Rob, what you trying to say there... Jay It's just my way of saying hello to you and Steve. Yeah, I need to stop by. I miss your wifes cooking. I trust all is well with the family
