  1. I got this same error at 2 customers today. Just delete this folder. C:\Users\user.name\AppData\Local\CNC_Software,_Inc To get to this folder you need to turn on show all files in folder options.
  2. I agree with using cross-drill, you will notice the C-axis drill shows the holes out of position also.
  3. It would be great if the Solidworks assembly translator would bring in the part file component name into the level manager. And the component material type as the Level Set name. Pete, is this possible?
  4. I have hooked up one of those machines about 20 years ago with Karlo Apro. Here are some notes: Dyna Mechtronics 2200 – 4400 To send a "Proven" program to the computer Select Line Mode and specify the starting sequence number. Press the SHIFT, READ/WRITE keys. Select YES to the RS-232 COM message. Select YES to the Upload message. Select NO to the Line Execute message. Select YES to the start immediately to the Program Execute message. Send CNC file to Control NOTE: The Dyna Mechtronics control can send or receive CNC programs up to 900 lines in length. In addition the Dyna Mechtronics can DNC a CNC program with an unlimited number of lines. DNC Commands Select Line Mode and specify the starting sequence number. Press the SHIFT, READ/WRITE keys. Select YES to the RS-232 COM message. Select YES to the Upload message. Select YES to the Line Execute message. Select YES to the start immediately to the Program Execute message. Send CNC file to Control NOTE: DNC mode on the Dyna Mechtronics does not support subroutines, looping and block skip commands.
  5. It has some nice options that should be in the 3d surface machining like "multi-depths on first pass only" and "from Center away" and outside corner loops.
  6. Definitely looks like a computer problem as everything else works on other computers. Are the other computers that work using Cimco edit? How many machines do you have? If more than one, is it just the Haas that is the problem? I have seen the exact issue were a customer replaced a computer and 2 Haas's would gives errors when receiving, but 12 other Haas's worked fine. (Everything worked fine with the older computer) I tried 3 different com port cards that would work fine when install in other computers. Maybe the computer has grounding/static issues.
  7. Using a nethasp? and there are no licenses available? run haspx.exe or nhaspx.exe and report the details
  8. His sample uses solid chaining, switch to wireframe and it works fine.
  9. If you get this error with Router, your Block drill setup gets deleted, you will need to redefine it in the Machine Def.
  10. Since X7 uses variables for all the paths you can take your config file to another computer. But in X6 and prior you would have to edit the lines in the config file that reference the user name.
  11. That's the whole idea, it compensates for the holder so there are no gouges. The message that pops just says that there may be extra material left.
  12. I have seen this range error before, try manually registering the UICtrls.dll found in the root on Mcamx7
  13. Your table probably looks like this and would not be nutating This is a nutating table http://numeryx.com/cnc/5axes.htm
  14. Just add a blank Manual Entry operation and include that with the operations to verify
  15. Unfortunately just turning on the arc filter, sets the ratio of cut tolerance 95% to filter tolerance 5% which will not give you very effective arc filtering. Set the Cut tolerance to 30% and you will get much better results. The settings in X6 were easier for customers to understand "Short, Normal, Long/ Good Better Best"
  16. I have seen it too, and it is due to that when you update a tool library from a previous version it changes the name to include tools-5.tooldb Since your Machine Def is still set to look for the original name that does not exist it creates a new empty file. Just rename the updated library to its proper name and direct the machine def to look for this file.
  17. I know that was the case in older versions (X2) with 4 axis direct paths.
  18. You can do it with the Wirepath Editor, just right-click on the operation.
  19. It is in the control def. Or just add these to lines to your post processor. tloffno$ = t$ #Diameter Offset No tlngno$ = t$ #Length Offset No
  20. I saw this problem at a customer this week, migration had changed his "Shareddir" registry setting to mcamx6 I would delete your mcamx.config in your my mcamx7\config folder and delete the Mastercam X7 entry in the registry and it should be fine
  21. I know a few customers that do these types of parts (electronic enclosure boxes) and the tolerances and surface finish requirements are very tight (Maclaw's points are valid) and it is a high production environment where seconds count. Using Level 3 cutter paths are going to give a longer cycle time. There is an opportunity here for Mastercam to enchance the FBM function to address his issues (and make it easier for us to sell more Mastercam). Even if it was something simple like putting all the geometry slices on separate levels and using the z position as the level name.
  22. I agree, but would you expect a customer to have to buy Level 3 if they only did type of work?
  23. I re-open the file and it works fine now. Thanks for sharing some excellent information on lathe grooving.
  24. That part is an excellent candidate for FBM, but I like Ajmer's method as doing the part with FBM will not give you Dynamic toolpaths. Maybe in the future?
