  1. Here is a video of it http://www.mastercam...stock_model.mp4
  2. CNC Software emailled me these files and they fixed the problem for me. The attached zip files contain one file each MCControl.dll – one for 32, one for 64. Back up your old one and copy in the new one to your main mastercam installation folder. (C:\Program Files\mcamx6) MCControl_fix.zip
  3. A lot of users complain that they will have Mastercam setup perfectly the way they want it but when they log in as another user all the settings are gone to back default. There needs to be an easy way copy user settings to multiple users. Or to an install option to install users settings to the shared folder so that the settings are identical no matter who logs into the computer.
  4. Hopefully everybody reports this useless function to [email protected] and it will not be in the next release.
  5. I saw this at a customer site that was frustrated with the END key endless spin issue in Mastercam. It is an effective solution
  6. I am sure that your log in name for your home computer will be different than your work computer. Which means your config file from work will mess up your Mastercam install at home. To bad Mastercam does not detect and update the config file according.
  7. When the part has a existing opening (casting) or a pre-drilled hole.
  8. I had the same problem also for awhile on my computer. Running the Mastercam X control panel applet and reset Dialog positions fixed it.
  9. NC Functions, Simple Math Functions, select the axis to scale and X 25.4
  10. Yes it does, That would be nice, it does scale the geometry but does not change parameters like stepover, depth of cuts etc... Unless I missing the magic button
  11. I agree, its a no brainer and has been requested a few times.
  12. That works or just click on Planes = Gview
  13. 2D Swept is not available in MC 4 SW Woodworkers and Stoneworkers and others use 2d Swept alot.
  14. If it had the option to show the current T/Cplane instead of only the WCS, less people would be wanting to turn it off
  15. I also got the1935 error during X6 install with Win 7 with all the updates. AVG antivirus was the problem, I went into Advanced Settings in AVG and turned on Temporarily disable AVG protection.

  17. No Splines allowed, make sure geometry is all one one level. For an easy check do an Analyze Chain and check the enitity count and make sure it matches what shows in the level manager. It is usually a stray piece that will mess it up.
  18. I tried using ceramic inserts in a face mill cutting inconel a few years back and it was not very successful. Used the recommended feeds and speeds and here is the results: Here is the video http://home.cogeco.ca/~mastercam/inconel/DSCF0993.AVI
  19. I agree with this comment for most jobbing shops. Just because the machine is in cycle does not mean that it is cutting efficiently. High production is a different story.
  20. I think that statement should be changed to X6 running in 64 bit. I was at a customer what had 100's of MC9 files (all between 10 and 100meg with 20 operations each) and they converted over fine using update folder in X6 on a 32bit computer. But with X6 on a 64 bit computer it crapped out after 2 files.
  21. I like the HST's individually listed as now I can set defaults for each toolpath type.
  22. I think what he is looking for is something that also calculates the bend deformation allowance calculations. The unfold chook that Rich mentioned did this but not the flatsurf chook. http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Inventor/enu/2012/Help/0073-Autodesk73/0308-Parts308/0430-Sheet_me430/0457-Custom_u457
  23. If I was a shop owner and my programmer gave me that response his days working for me would be numbered, or his pay greatly decreased, as he is probably applying that "head stuck in sand" to other areas of his work. I do come across some users that are still using V9 and after spending 1 or 2 hours with them going thru their hangups on what is holding them back they are happy to make the switch and would never go back.
  24. It works fine in the 32 bit version but not in the 64 bit Really ?? depends on what you are doing, the variable depths rough is saving some people $$$ in inserts and the Up/Down cutting saves lots of time doing finish passes.
  25. We have had good success with these: USB to serial
