I like the search feature alot. I usally find what I'm looking for through searching. Yes anything past 2002 delete. Maybe even 2003, but it sure is a wealth of information at your finger tips.

I use not only the forum for Mastercam topic's but also for other Work related issue's, and I am a big fan of the search option, so I oppose deleting stuff from prior to 2002, but I do vote for the idea only keeping the 2 latest pages of the OT forum, and deleting old "no post" members.

have been registered for years, lurk all the time and never post a word. They are legitimate users

There should be a way to select "members" that neither post nor lurk and purge them.

I still use the search - I think there are many good topics that can be searched - both in the main forum and the off-topic forum.

 

So please be selective when deleting. There is much good machining/computer/video card/software/shop related/ info from the beginning of time (forum time ) up to the present.

 

There is a lot of off topic nonsense/silliness though that can be deleted - in both the main and off-topic forum.

 

 

I don't think just deleting by date is a good idea.

I would say OT can go and try to keep 2 or 3 years worth of the rest due to the fact that alot of my questions have been answered by simply searching old threads.

I voted to keep the topics from 2002. Just a few weeks ago I got e-mailed a question about something I did that was somewhat related to mcam back in 2003.

 

There is so much info on the main forum related and unrelated to mastercam that is valuable info. The off-topic section on the other hand while some good info is in there, some of that could be removed.
