I just want a strait up answer.

Is there going to be a quickly available patch to fix all the crap that got broken between X2 and X3?

I"m talking about stuff like this:

http://www.emastercam.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...ic;f=1;t=031268

and this:

http://www.emastercam.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...ic;f=1;t=031270

and this:

http://www.emastercam.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...ic;f=1;t=031219

Which is related to this:

http://www.emastercam.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...ic;f=1;t=031183

I am just trying to figure out if I need to uninstall X3 and go back to X2 until it gets fixed or not.

Thanks

Me too..

the highlight issue is pretty strange..

my home nmachine has got it real bad.

my work machine , hardly ever..

both have nearly identical hardware and vedio drivers..

I'm going nuts trying to find the difference smile.gif

Has anyone had any issues with drafting? It seems that when I try to use drafting I get extremely long lines that are not adjustable...make sense?

I find that I'm having more problems with my laptop then my desktop at work. My laptop should be sufficient enough to run any cad/cam software out there. Dell M4300. Could this be more of a laptop problem then anything else?

All 4 issues shown in the original post are logged and scheduled for fixing in the next update. Currently the next update is scheduled for an early October release. At this time there are no plans to release any fixes prior to this.

I am aware of work arounds for the first 2.

Tool # not updating in the list after changing tool # in parameters. Performing a file save and reload will update the list. The output seems to be fine even without the file save.

Auto Highlighting gone - Performing some type of screen regen brings back the auto highlighting. Even using Alt-S (shade on/off) will cause it to come back.

I'll have to research the last 2 myself to see if there is some other way around these.

Thanks for the info Jim.

X2MR2 until the forum quiets down.

I simply do not have the time when X2 is already working perfect for me.

V9 to VX was even more troublesome and I gave up after 2 months. I waited 1 year and all the problems I encountered were magically gone.

CNC got on it.

Im on X3 also, some of the stuff has already been brought up and workarounds have been found. Just wished they could have cought some of the simply stuff like the highlight issue. Did they testers not notice this headscratch.gif . Other than that great job, I like all the free stuff and improvments, Level1 finally got some good stuff. biggrin.gif

Finding a bug in testing is only part of the process, This Highlight bug was caught, logged and somehow lost in our process. Unfortunately this happens sometimes.

This is one of the reasons we constantly review our processes and systems when things like this happen, so we can try to keep these things from slipping through.

Keep the info coming.

Im not trying to start anything, it's cool. I only have level1 so I dont know if I could even become a Beta Tester. I truly understand that it is a difficult and thankless job, Im not questioning that at all. So please dont take any offence, I did not mean it that way. Jim has said all that needs to be said, somethings just fall thru the cracks.

Jim:

Did somebody test metric version of Mastercam ??

Did somebody test Mastercam with other Windows Lenguajes than English??

MXC3 give me feed outputs in inches but when I recalculate with the speed & feed calculator it turns in to metric. I need metric. I think this is a big mistake. A "metric user" find this in a couple of minutes.

Some features that are part from Windows not works well. For example I can not set my CD to send my files to Mis documentosREDLAN....

I had to map the Network folder and send it there. For example U:

The Mastercam Update feature never works in Spanish Windows. Not in X,X2 even in X3.

Some of this problems are minor and really don´t need to fix but the feed problems is complicate to find a workaround. I need to went back to X2MR2 till this is fix.

Thanks

Heavy, one thing to consider about us Beta TEsters, we don't all run the same hardware. We certainly don't all have the same programs/processes running while we're doing our thing. So, it's not unusual for us to miss something. Many of us have have become accostomed to using workarounds so even after an issue is fixed we don;t always know it has been fixed so therefore because something gets fixed does not mean something else does not get broken in the process. Not making excuses by a longshot, just wanted to give you a small glimpse of why things don;t always get caught. Personally, a bug I found stopped a release for a few weeks a few years ago... so they are paying attention and I know it's frustrating sometimes but CNC is working hard and so are we Beta Testers.
