Leon82, this is a vary true statement for a lot of folks ( I suppose. Its the way I was shown. ) I see this when I am onsite training in our office online. there are a lot of folks doing a great job getting by. As they were never shown or went to class to learn the how power Mastercam really has. We need to work on changing that for you.
Way to much work and to many unnecessary machine groups that don't follow each other. And trying follow with STL files. like going back in time. I beleave this is more work then needed.

Hey whose going to be at the Camarillo Mastercam Roll out? there are spaces still open and I was hoping to get to see more of you folks there.
Remember Mastercam 2018 is out.
So what I do is make solids of the stock. the first thing I do is make a stock Model using all the solids I pick. So now I have blocks for my Verify or to machine against.
Like the picture.
Some of you may not know you have FTP support in Mastercam now. Those of you with newer machines may use the FTP protocol for their communications. The new release of Mastercam's 2018 comes with the V8 series of the CIMCO editor and communications. One of the upgrades to the V8 editor was the support of FTP protocol.
Not sure I will ever buy another Samsung Computer monitor. I have sitting 3 of there LED 27" and all of a sudden could be a year or more down the road they loose video connction . but I may connect to another computer and then they may work.
moved backed to dell 27" no issues and better picture.
PS Ben has the curved screens that I remember. I for sure would have to go with to of them. I have a hutch on my desk so there is not enough room for two 32" other wise would have done it for sure.
( Surface rough pocket set to facing with rough turned off is almost perfect, but also almost unusable, as it has no means of controlling the depth so you better pick a tool that reaches the entire distance. Or you can make a planar surface to block it at a certain depth in which case it will finish that surface as well (no checked surfaces), and the subsequent tool with more reach cannot be made to start further down. ) Sir you really need to do your homework just on this path and the controls. The control for depths is there and I have not created for this path over 15 + years a surface to limit it unless it was a 3+2 programming. Also there is control after the first tool being stuby and now I want to copy the operation and tell a long tool to go deeper and start past were I just ended.
Have you looked at Depths in the Surface Rough pocket?
I see 2" above plater unless this a brand new style of has trunion he is going to be off before posting. I know there are other issues. Also if it is a new one has the post been updated for the new trunion.
Are setup correctly on the has trunion. Is this an older one were you need to figure out were the center of rotation is above the platter? Some wereason between .1 and .16 or so. So this is always origin?
you will see all the paths and you can review them and backplot and so on. but if there is a surface toolpath with multi surfaces you will not be able to modify it.
