  1. I wonder really how much has changed between the m4000 and the P4000? I guess I have to dig to find out.
  2. It is still an option. not a lot of development in a while some but not a lot.
  3. That seems to bite many a folk. Get support emails and calls were they switched to text. I may need to start creating some videos if this happens do this.
  4. You will no longer see MU1 or Mu2 as far as I know sense moving to 2017 and 2018. Also if you have internet and have not updated it. Mastercam will popup once in while to let you know there is an update to.
  5. I was thinking the same as Millman. if it is 3axis Morph for the undercut will do a great job set as 3axis. if it ignores the undercut at all go to tool collision it should be set for flute only. Add shank and holder. should help.
  6. Like shown here when you are up to update 3. each one on the Mastercam site under info will tell you what version you are installing.
  7. David by the version number it changes by each update.
  8. Here is an older video on the blend path. but the thought on how it works still works today in the newer version. Hope this helps on how the Surface Blend path works.
  9. John you are correct Flowline never had containment options. what helped is when added support for Check surfaces.
  10. Going on the main question, I have really started using Viewsheets as of X7 and more and more over time. I really fine them along with levels and planes to help lay things out and these days easy and fast. Even more sense they added the option when making a new WCS. I know that each have there way they like to do things that help work thru there files. like the F9 cross hairs I hate them find for years to get in the way now Alf9 with the gnomons makes sense and no clutter. Just a little of what I like. have a great day.
  11. By default these are not set as checked just as a thought. but as John stated check to make sure they are not checked.
  12. SlaveCam this is a great tool for when doing undercut surfacing getting the tool in and out of an undercut. just another way this tool is useful. I cannot remember how far back I started using it. but I know I have been showing customers and students for over 15 years.
  13. Gcode soyou know maintenance came in 2004 actually at the end of V9.
  14. John, he has always fought moving forward. I am glad he finally moved from V9. Alex if works for you great. for me just can't stay back and I like the new features myself. As John stated hope you are well.
  15. ( To "unwrap" geometry, use the Xform - Unroll command. ) actually it "Xform" "Roll" for X9 and earlier and "transform" "Roll" for 2017 on. Just trying to help.
  16. are the UV of the fillet edges causing the tool not to follow all the surfaces along the same direction? If so create edges and create a new surface using swept. Good chance you can get a clean surface. the use use a chain as a Control with Flow 5ax. or do Morph as stated. using the full rad key cutter should work. I like those for this type of work. this picture is a 5 ax undercut in Inconel doing exactly that.
  17. The "7" thought was in the workspace file that started in X8 and also for X9..
  18. Daniel, I know that some the things have changed but so you know the development team is knocking new stuff all the time. I mean weekly and some daily. but they are working on different area's and different modulus. I get emails daily were they are doing fix's or updates. So I hope here when get some of your needs covered. PS the Machine Sim just went into beta. it is behind the hopped beta of Jan that you herd of. I was telling folks at IMTS last year more like February March time frame.
  19. I need to remove X7 as I usually have 4 versions at a time. As of today I X7,X8,X9,2017 and 2018
  20. do you get full screen for your Mastercam? What CIMCO editor are you using the the one in MC or Standalone Pro version? Also what version.
  21. CIMCO Pro editor can give you some basics of of time statistics. but what you really want is MDC so you get real time from the machine. this will be captured to bee seen at a later date. With NC-Base now you have what watcher talked about. Some folks using MDC with NC-Base will record the time after sent back in the saving of NC file so it can be found by run time as a part of the criteria. Sample screen shot running in my office now.
  22. I suggest the 5000 series for the school. I have been teaching Mastercam at the local college for 16 years now we use Dell's. you should contact them and sign up as a school as you will get better discounts.
