  1. The way we control revisions is by saving the part file and g-code file with the current rev in the name.
  2. Well then to answer your question, I would say yes to the later version.
  3. I am currently using both for 2020 and have no issues opening solidworks files. Are you refering to Mastercam stand alone version or MCFSW(MasterCam For SolidWorks)?
  4. I've seen this with ball nose or rad tipped cutters where the path rides up to keep contact with the work.
  5. Here is a pic to add to what Gcode is saying...
  6. Hook up an air line to the spindle head with the nozzle pointing straight down your tool of choice. That should help with chip evacuation.
  7. Could be, although if it was a bug, would it not seen on multiple systems?
  8. you will have to change line style to change dashed to solid, however this does not explain why your arcs(G2/G3) are a different line style to the 'G1' lines.
  9. I tried but it would not let me open it in 2022. I don't know if that counts as 'not bothering' or not...
  10. Have you tried opening with Mastercam? It is in the list of file types.
  11. No experience dealing with these file types but this might help https://listoffreeware.com/free-prt-viewer-software-windows/
  12. According to the below link ,yes http://www.mastercam.com/support/technical-support/translators/
  13. Well, this is going to become an entry into the book of SIDKAM.
  14. Do you have a machine group set in the toolpath manager? I noticed that it appears in the ribbon once I select a machine in the manager.
  15. on mine , Toolpaths is there next to view but when I right click in the ribbon - Customize Ribbon Toolpaths is missing from the main tabs list...odd.
  16. SO you are still considering cutting these in 1st op? As mentioned by Gcode and myself, this will not be an easy feat. You will not be able to gauge the thread. There will be more work needed to be done to cut the reverse taper. etc, etc, etc. Some also recommend running a tapered endmill or reamer to give you the minor diameter taper and reduce the stress on the upper portion of the threadmill.
  17. You will have to do this thread from the other side, unless you happen to have a reverse taper thread mill that is. in mastercam you can add a taper to the operation.
  18. Look in configuration - Screen - selection
  19. For the background - file - config - colors For the ops manager - drop down arrow - background color
  20. No problem, I'm glad that you have some forward momentum now.
  21. This I think depends on what version of Solidworks they are using, if it's anything later than 2018 or possibly even 2017 then MC 2018 won't be able to open them. I rarely have issues opening Solidworks models in Mastercam, drag and drop or file open, the solid model always comes in.
  22. ... hmmm... i wonder if this is the culprit You should have full control of the levels when moving or copying to another level
