  1. What witchcraft are you using to obtain such skills?
  2. Then Im sure Rekd's solution shown above should work.
  3. Before this latest change we could definitely copy paste pictures.
  4. Can we not add images anymore? I just tried to copy and paste a pic in another thread and the pic did not show up.
  5. Did you create a new WCS for the 2nd part / position and then assign a work offset to that WCS? This can be done in the Planes manager or under planes tab in toolpath parameters
  6. I think i saw etched in stone somewhere... ...'The blind shall lead the blind...'
  7. To answer one or two of your questions https://www.mastercam.com/solutions/home-learning-edition/ Most software now, not just Mastercam are not backwards compatible. You can open older versions with newer version, i.e. Mastercam 2022 can open 2021 and earlier files but earlier versions cannot open 2022. I hope that clarifies things for you.
  8. Nice!! ...sounds like Verisurf trainer guy needs some re-edumacation...
  9. Then you have to do a stock flip which can be handled within Mastercam by using stock flip. If you have no sub-spindle your machine will / should not allow you to drill from left to right.
  10. This looks right to me. You are drilling from left to right. anything left of Z0 is -, Right is +. If this is on a lathe with a sub spindle the code might not work because it is just the main spindle being indexed. On our Haas DS30Y. I have to precursor the sub orientation with main spindle orientation.
  11. How are you picking your chains? My force of habit is to pick my chain or 1st entity where I want the toolpath to start. I then don't have to worry about now editing my start point.
  12. As far as I know, no you cannot. My work around is to duplicate the tool call one ruff the other finish. IF it needs to be the same tool then keep tool # the same just change speeds and feeds. To add to this, I even have duplicate tools for different materials, i.e. Mild steel, tool steel , stainless steel.
  13. You will have to switch groups by moving the red arrow to the desired group. I dont think you can verify both in the same instance. What you could do is create a stock model at the end of 1st group and use that stock model as stock for 2nd group.
  14. Not sure about the stand alone but im pretty sure the same will apply... Tool libraries are not backward compatible, which is the same, i think, for any software. The new can read the old but old cannot read the new.
  15. Touch off the tool and add whatever the the pilot length is. This will help avoid any potential mishaps like having your retract or clearance height being too low.
  16. This does happen from time to time. Do you have solids/surfaces displayed when doing this? Try just wireframe. I generally find that I need to restart my PC when this starts to happen.
  17. As much as I applaud you wanting to be certified I would not be focused on how Mastercam, specifically, does things. Being Mastercam certified does not help you if you walk into a job or company that doesn't use Mcam. Rather pay attention to how and what operations do when using them. Once you are comfortable with understanding the functionality then its just a case of putting a picture or snazzy name to an operation / function. I have worked in a variety of different places and only 3 of them used Mastercam with a 10 or so year gap between 2 of them, jumping from X3 to 2017. With all the different CAM packages I have been exposed to, Mastercam is definitely my favorite.
  18. Just guessing here... Could be it is using the theoretical tip, assuming there is a rad on the tool tip, much like a lathe tool.
  19. Goto System Configuration - Screen - Check box for Display toolpaths.
  20. In a case like this i would actively be seeking another job.
  21. Ive worked at some places where you were only aloud a week at a time. Some were based on seniority or work load. IMHO it is your entitled leave you should be able to use it as you wish
  22. Click and drag just above the icons to where you want the window to dock. As you drag you will see 'anchor' points at edge mid-points of your screen. Rinse and repeat.
  23. Apologies... It was 1 of the pages that came up when searching 'wire edm fluid testing'.
