  1. You can switch with control key or you can use context button near gnome (bottom left) in graphic area
  2. Uninstall Microsoft intellimouse driver and I m pretty sure it should work better
  3. I get that weird things sometimes... recreate toolpath from scratch sometimes helps.
  4. Thanks I will experiment on Monday. >Husker, I tried new backplot with stationary tool view but it doesn't really show what I want. I don't have machsim set up, I ever took the time mainly because it doesn't support lathe/mill turn without MT addon (logic!) . However I push all my programming in Vericut so at the end I can check what I want but as i m trying and retrying toolpaths i d like to be able to see a fast backplot in Mastercam without need to export to Vericut.
  5. One thing to be aware (at least with outside mode) is that stock to leave doesn't apply on 'limit area' chains (but only on 'avoid area' chains)
  6. Sorry for french release capture but is this tab you're talking about ? It doesn't work here... that setting is (at least) used for toolpath generating but rotary backplotting is still around X.
  7. Thanks ! I ll try tomorrow but are you sure it s for backplot and not for toolpath generating?
  8. Sure i can, here is a video of a morph toolpath on a 4-axis VMC rotating around X WCS axis. That's OK. Now, I would like the exact same toolpath but on a 4-axis HMC rotating around Z WCS axis. Toolpath/Verify/post are OK but i'd like to backplot it rotating Z axis WCS but it always rotates around X axis. Is there a way to make it ? I tried to tweak machine definition but it had no effect. Here is file for HMC. Simulate rotary HMC.mcam
  9. In classic backplot whatever machine définition I select, it seems Mastercam is using X axis to rotate. Is there a way to make it rotate around another axis?
  10. I encountered that kind of problem too Morevover, in my shop some machines are 'wear' and some others are 'control'. I think best way to prevent that mistake is to check compensation type in PP (there is a parameter value to read). That saved my xxxx a few times...
  11. Are you sure in verify options you selected solid stock (or stl/stock model) ? I ve programmed Integrexes with lathe posts and I have not this issue with verify. Lathe toolpaths will make stock round but mill toolpaths shouldn't. Which release are you using (remembering issues with X9)?
  12. Yeah you're right. In 2D mode, if you try to move genome origin (in current X/Y Cplane), it will always snap to zero Y-axis (no problem with X-axis or in top Cplane) It looks like an issue you should send to QC... (BTW, there is not this issue in 2017) Edit: Logically, there is the same issue with dynamic plane creation,
  13. I used that forever but as you said, slow click could be a little tricky sometimes but i noticed a nice improvement in 2018. Now you can click on F2 key and it will replace slow clicking (as you can edit a cell in excel for example).
  14. You are using new GAF(tool shaded with several colours) on your screenshot and there is no issue with it. Issue is with GAF disabled to be able to display a similar shaded tool (but with 1 and only colour for tool and another one for holder) or to display tool/holder in wireframe selecting plain option (see screenshot a few post above) like it was in pre-2018. I still liked wireframe display mainly with 2D toolpaths because in tool plane view you could watch toolpath through the tool. I'm using a Quadro K4200 card and i tried a few drivers/settings with no result. I could reproduce issue on another seat, then I called my reseller and he reproduced it too. I guess I ll need to live with it as it's an old functionnality which has been removed. However, zero issue with 2017 backplot. They probably broke something with GAF implementation.
  15. Anyway it looks like there is a glitch with plain backplotting. Tool's wireframe is flickering (or is painted with backcolor) making it unusable... As CNC would like to get rid of this classic backplot I guess they won't fix it soon.
  16. I guess this is CGI rendered. 3D studio should be able to generate it but it s not free... however CAD softwares like solidworks can be used to make assemblies and animate parts with constraints.
  17. I just reinstalled X3 to be sure and that feature was there and worked as expected... It's been removed (or relocated?) but why??
  18. Yes, that would definately be great to be able to define a safety plane (or cylinder/sphere) which Mastercam could use to automatically link operations in 3+2. However, i'm pretty sure this safety zone was there in some previous Mastercam versions (in config job tabs). I don't know when it's been removed as i made a big jump from X3 to X9...
  19. It s the same here on our Integrex. I wondered why and understood that X,Y an Z axis direction are the same for main/sub spindle but you are milling from opposite Z axis. You should also notice same behaviour with G2/G3.
  20. I would really be upset to not be able to use 2D dynamic toolpath and so many other stuff... but I agree maintenance fee is not cheap.
  21. I got cgtech guy at my shop yesterday, he gave me a MC2018 plug-in built 6/20/2017. He tried Vericut 8.1alpha release but there were nothing really new...
  22. I think shortcuts keys are into workspace file now. But I guess you already imported this file from 2017 to 2018?
  23. One thing to know is that any simulation software will need a reverse post processor (sort of) to read NC code and simulate your machine precisely or if you want to catch specific errors . It depends of your machines complexity but these 'reverse post processors' will probably need to be tweak for a few weeks as you use them and discover glitches (like a Mastercam post processor). We just got Vericut here and I d say support team is really great to this game. They are pretty reactive and comprehensive to your needs.
