  1. Reset the permissions and seems to be all good now. Thanks Ron. Never had to do that before. If Mastercam, Inventor, and CAMplete were compatible with Linnux, I'd kick Windows to the curb in a heartbeat.
  2. I had to set Mastercam to Run as Administrator to avoid crashes. Been running flawless since. Maybe I'll try this.
  3. That's 6:15 by my calculation. Is that about right @JoshC?
  4. This setting will allow you to have multiple part coordinate zeros in a single setup.
  5. CAMplete TruePath plug-in for Mastercam 2022 dropped today.
  6. Is he plugged into the right port? A Dataserver pretty much works flawlessly and are straightforward to set up.
  7. A LOT of machine behavior comes down to not only the code running through it, but additionally the parameters that are enabled/disabled. It's up to the AE to know/do this for the customer onsite. The thing about configuration from the factory... they are building machines for the world. How they do things in Vietnam are different than how things are done in Australia, which is different from how they are done in France, which is defferent from Brazil, which is different from Brazil, which is different from shop to shop, etc... as infinitum. I've had multiple discussions with builders regarding this. Won some. Lost some. The reality is, it comes down to (as @Colin Gilchrist mentioned) the AE charged with commissioning the machines knowing their way around the control enough to ask the customer questions and configure the machine appropriately. In school I was the kid that read the dictionary in class... because I was bored. So, in adulthood, when I started at Mori Seiki in the 90's, the FANUC Parameter manual became my dictionary. As a machinist, I was generally unaware of this side of the machine tool, which, in retrospect, was probably a good thing back then. I would most likely have tinkered with stuff I was not ready/prepared to tinker with which could have ended badly. There is a common mis-conception that parameters control "everything". That's simply not true. The parameters do affect a great deal of the machine's behavior but not everything. FANUC being FANUC gives the builders a great deal of latitude in this much to the ire of end users but I digress. Often times builders control certain behavior through the use of the Timers, Keep Relays and Data Bits, or a combination of all three. Then there's the ladder that kind of ties it all together. The ladder is almost like the Windows Registry. But, each builder is different. Toyoda uses Data Bits and timers almost exclusively. Matsuura uses a combination as do most builders. JM2CFWIW
  8. On the topic of inch/metric stuff. A few years back I identified a bug on a FANUC 31i-A5 series control. When writing to WSEC (G54.4) offset table using G10 method, if you were in metric mode, all was good. If you were in imperial units mode it moved the decimal on the linear error corrections. That took some time to figure out. Then when I brought it to my FANUC contact's attention he was equally as puzzled. FANUC had a fix in relatively short order (for them). Agreed, not all AE's are created equal. I'll go back to my dungeon now and sulk about my peers that aren't up to snuff.
  9. When speaking of AE's, wasn't necessarily speaking of methods and whatnot, I was speaking more in terms of the under the hood machine stuff... ladder, PMC, options, etc....
  10. I must've touched a nerve Bob. Clearly more than an element of truth to what I said. You COMPLETELY took what I said out of context and are coming in from the top ropes. if I were trolling you Bob, I would have been much more creative with it and probably added a or So, on that note... have a nice day.
  11. Really no different from any other software company's EULA boiler plate stuff. EVERY software EULA can be bolied down to this if we're being honest; You own nothing. You are responsible for everything. We are responsible for nothing. Suck it up butter cup.. and pay your maintenance.
  12. 9999x out of 10000x the AE's are right. But there's always a handful of folks that think they know better. Don't let your ego get in the way of sound advise. You're comparing a Makino MILL to a Mori mill-turn?
  13. 2003 looks to be when the MAM72-35V's came with tail stocks. The 1999 MAM72-3VS had no tail stock.
  14. Running the rotary union dry and pressurized could cause premature failure.
  15. Regarding the Named User... the best way to handle it is to create a single user account for AD purposes. When each user is done with their session, log out of the account (same function as unplugging the USB.) then the next user uses the same login credentials, and works on their project. Hardware security WILL be going away for all software packages eventually. Anyone notice the number of USB ports is shrinking? I only have 3 on my Dell Precision 7750. Down from like 6 on my last rig. I had to buy a USB-C to USB hub because I've got 4 USB Keys I use on the regular. (3D Connexion, FANUC NC Guide, Mastercam and CAMplete). I probably won't be using my CAMplete key much after November. You said "ALL" John. That is just not accurate. Some or most... not all.
  16. Emphasis mine. #FALSE!!! They still have HSMWorks. Outsiders have been claiming that it's death is immenent for years. So no. Not "all" @JParis
  17. Mastercam was slow rolling out the SDK. CAMplete got it Thursday June 10th. This is why I'm still running Mastercam 2021. Once the CAMplete plug-in hits, Mastercam 2022 is all I'll have then.
  18. Mastercam 2022... going backwards a tad. 3:09 to 3:22
  19. Since before I saw my first one... So.... late 90's early 2,000's...
  20. We have a couple customers with those on the Matsuura machines. As far as I know they like them.
  21. Post default location is C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Shared Mastercam 2021\Mill\Posts\ Machine and Control Definition default location is C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Shared Mastercam 2021\CNC_MACHINES\ When updating new Posts, I always go in and double check to make sure the path is associated to the new install. Should be having to do this myself within a month when Mastercam 2022 comes out. I don't use Update Wizard for new versions on everything, pretty much just posts and tool libraries because of path issues in the past. I do new Machine and Control Definitions and Operations/Defaults every version. Just works better that way for me.
