  1. They still make them. They were coming out with FANUC controls on the last re-re-go of it. Looks like they are back on their own control now.

  3. It's a Y axis lathe. Unless you are doing extremely simple work with live tooling, I would highly recommend getting Mcam lathe. The post is pretty solid that is included for free. As long as you are using 2017 and beyond.
  4. Does the control support G12.1?
  5. I would rough it with carbide and finish with Cermet. Facing to center or even small diameters sucks without the RPM on 1018. Had to do a run off on a lathe with only 2400 RPM and the part required a 32 finish on all features. Turning the OD there was no difference, but facing was noticeably better with Cermet.
  6. I would set your rapid to feeds, for now and show that it works. That way they can fix it. Depending on the change in X compared to your change in Y, it could still make unwanted contact..Changing rapids to feed moves right now is the better option.
  7. Depending on the age of the Haas control you can not change it. Also, it is not recommended even on older machines.
  8. That is probably it, due to the Dog Leg Rapid. Had a customer with the IHS post have the same issue.

  10. Also, I highly recommend using the Renishaw probing cycles. The manual can be found on the CD that comes with the probes, or online. You are using the Haas Macros that populate the Renishaw ones. It achieves the same result. However, you are not protecting your probe when initially positioning it. If a clamp or part is not loaded correctly the probe can move into the obstruction and break because it is not using G65P9810 (macro for protected positioning) for its initial moves.
  11. Save off #189 as another variable after you probe. Then call this new macro variable as your angle for G68.
  12. It might have been added as standard when the NGC came out, and it was a paid option previously, This is an older one correct? (two years old)

  14. You still need an access code on newer non NGC machines, regardless if its a paid option. It can be found in the txt file that is shipped with the machine. Or call into your local HFO for the code.
  15. Yea, that will do it. I guess you have been float tapping on it?
  16. Increase your R-plane. Make it .3 above the top of the hole for troubleshooting purposes. (Haas recommends a minimum of .2) Are you using a retract multiplier? Shouldn't matter, but I would change it to 1 to troubleshoot. Setting 130 or add a J1 to your G84 line.

  18. If you are using the default Haas Mcam post. Turn on the prestage in the control definition as mentioned. This way you get a forced prestage, rather than relying on the control reading the next tool change to prestage. Deleting your M01 is not a good idea.
  19. I have gone to a 1mm stylus to check shallow pockets. Repeatability was not as good compared to a larger stylus(6mm), but it worked. The OMP400 on the machine would float +/-.0002, while the CMM would have consistent results checking the same features.   20. I was having all kinds of instability with 2017. I have X9-2018 with all updates installed. I did not test with the other versions, had issues and rolled windows back.

If you are not using this feature, you will have to have your WCS be the centerline of the trunnion and have your physical setup match what you have in Mastercam.
