I'm using a 4 year old box. It was a pretty hot when it was new, but it begining to show its age. Although it can't compare to some of your times, it ran a respectable 68 second 2nd run.

AMD 700 mhz

256 RAM

Somthing aint right. I tested 4 computers.

Dell 2.4 (No HT)(1 gig sys mem), GF 5600 (256 meg) "55 sec"

AMD Barton 3200 (1 gig sys mem), GF 5700 (256 meg) "65 sec"

Dell 3.0 (With HT) (1 gig sys mem) ,GF 5200 (256 meg) "70 sec"

This is the funny part:

AMD 2100 OC'ed to a 2800 (768 megs sys mem), ATI 9700 Pro with FireGL convertion (128 meg) 42 seconds.

The 2100 is my custom built home rig and it does do very well with Mastercam but, I also built the AMD 3200 every part of that computer is somehow faster then the 2100, Sata harddrive 200 FSB ver 166, Dual channel DDR memory. The only thing my home rig has over the 3200 is the extream memory settings allowed by the Corsair ram and cooling system.

I think we need a better test, that way we can figure out what hardware really helps and whats a waste of money.

that sucks compared to the rest of you all with 3.0ish GHz.

Jody, how about this:

P4

dual processor 3.20 GHz each

1 gig

Windows2000 5.00.2195 sp4

dual monitor (21"CRT, 17" LCD)

NVIDIA Quadro FX 1100

1280 x 1024 x 75 hertz

NVIDIA Dualview

1280 x 1024 x 60 hertz

MasterCAM 9.1 SP2 (no main.)

1 min 22 sec the first time

36 sec the second time

It should be faster . . .
