  1. you may have already figured this out, but it looks like your start and end of your spline are mismatched by .0004. found that out by what MLS said with endpoints.
  2. did it in 3d swept and the toolpath is alot larger compared to 2d due to the along cut distance
  3. if you create a swept surface then mill it using surface finish flowline it'll work
  4. you'll most likely use both (command and roboform) I use my command program for positioning, measuring and such while the roboform strictly for burning. we set up multiple parts and call them out using points and then run the roboform program. it's sort of like sub programs. hth.
  5. Greg it works fine for me, the only way to recreate what your saying is to run it as "depth" instead of "plunge" and have "one way ramping for open contours" checked. double check your settings
  6. +10000 gcode, never tried that i just assumed that would just plunge mill with the z axis along the path. never ass_u_me!
  7. Ron check out calmotion it sounds like what your looking for hth
  8. maybe i'm blind as well but Wanny is right, the coolant changes are gone! check it out gcode.
  9. also grav you can program in incremental mode and your fadal A axis will move in the correct direction +/-.
  10. also the rolldie c-hook is usefull.
  11. +1 for emastercam Hedelius and Rickster my Dad was from Gyor which is west of Budapest and my Mom from Novi Sad (Ujvidek). I have a map of Hungary pre WW1 before it was cut up. to all the Magyars
  12. We have our fanuc in a back corner with a man door by it, so the temp varies quite a bit. that fanuc holds size no problem. (our accuracy need are only +/-.0001-.0002 (bought in '01) the charmilles is located in a more temp stable area in the shop and we would get .002-.003 variation on the Y axis from morning to afternoon. they finally put a y axis ballscrew chiller on the machine which is standard now. it is a '04.
  13. we have an older Sodick A280L, a Fanuc Alpha OiA, and a charmilles 240cc. of those hands down the fanuc, excellant wire threader, easy edge finding and wire alignment. i'll take the older sodick before the Charmilles not that it's faster just ease of setup and operating. I've also been reading about the new Makino Duo64, have the brochure right in front of me. we are possibly going to purchase a new wire this year and it will be either Fanuc or Makino.
  14. +10000 to Anubis i'll use G0G91G28Z0 or M06 with not tool called out if i want to keep the same tool in the spindle. Many ways of doing the same thing. I also set workoffset E48 to X center of table and Y with table all the way forward then at the end of the program call out G0 G90 E48 X0 Y0 this way the table comes forward for easy load and unload for the operator.
  15. not to hi jack, but it's a Fanuc of course it's an option. i'm surprised m03 is not an option. don't get me wrong Fanuc is a great contol but please make some more things standard like inverse time feed. we have an 18i MB control and the cost of inverse time $1300.00 WOW, just to change a parameter to activate it. i just feel abused.
  16. Rakesh, do you want to do this on a lathe or mill?? makes a big difference. if mill i agree with Colin.
  17. Iwells, don't you mean to switch from catagory view to classic view. otherwise the mastercam icon does not show up
  18. neil, can't you just go into your "machine group properties" and check "assign tool numbers sequentially"? this way as you generate your mcx file the tools are numbered properly. i just tried renumbering my tools and it worked just fine. what's exactly happening with yours?
