Hey all. I would suggest doing a side by side and selecting to migrate your files. It will automatically transfer all of your settings minus 5 axis posts. You can always go back in uninstall MR2 when you feel the time is right. Also, make sure the .net 2.0 is in there before you install the Mastercam to avoid any complications.

 

On a side note, the new mouse pads are pretty sweet.

It seems to act and react very slow to any prompts that I give. Is this normal for everyone else?

 

Side note - Is there a way to make the RMB functions smaller, so I can read everything that I have loaded in mine?

I just spent the last 4 hours downloading X2 and with 93% done the downloader stopped and said "unable to find host file" and aborted the download. Now I have a 372mb file calles *mcblahblah*.exe.part and when I try to continue the download it starts all over. Guess I'll just wait for the CD.

Still can't install X2. I called my reseller, but he can't figure it out. I'm using 64-bit XP and installed the correct .net2.0 file, but I get a few errors when installing X2:

 

ERROR 1904. Module C:WINDOWSSYSWOW64MCDESCR.DLL FAILED TO REGISTER. HRESULT-2147010895

 

ERROR 1904. Module C:MCAMX2DIRECTMCIVENTOR.DLL FAILED TO REGISTER. HRESULT-2147010895

 

ERROR 1904. Module C:MCAMXCDIRECTMCSEDGEADDIN.DLL FAILED TO REGISTER. HRESULT-2147010895

 

ERROR 1904. Module C:WINDOWSSYSWOW64MCLSTCTL.OCX FAILED TO REGISTER. HRESULT-2147010895

 

I hit ignore on all these errors and continued with the installation. I double clicked on the new X2 icon and this error popped up.

 

"This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem"

 

I reinstalled and had the same errors. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I "believe" they have, there was a fix done on the Beta side, it worked for a problem I was having, I didn't hear if it fixed gcodes issues.

I don't "believe" the MPMaster posts will ever be a part of the MC discs/downloads, those are In-House Solutions while the MPFan stuff is available by CNC

I do like that the "unusable" icons are grayed out so you don't try and do something that you can't do.

The In-House link to MPmaster still shows X MR2

There are 2 mpmaster X posts.

One is the old style posts where the machine is defined inside pst file.The download is dated

Dec 2 2005

These posts work fine in X2

 

The newer mpmaster gets some machine details

from the Machine Defintion. This is the download dated August 23 2006. This post will not run properly in X2. There are problems with

rotational axis limits, coolant off/on and spindle speeds.

There is fix for all this in the beta FTP, but if you're not a beta site it doesn't do you much good.

 

I'm guessing a fix will be made available for everyone soon.

im getting the same thing on only one of our systems,i installed it on 2 other pcs and it worked great

Will the quick mask fuction allow you to select all solids when creating edge curves or surfaces from solids? The MR2 (and earlier) version of All-Solids doesn't.

Nope sorry Thad. I just tried it with 4 solids and it didn't work.
